As suggested by the title this is a Coordinator level administrative role, not supervisory or senior level
Position Purpose
Oversees, leads and supports colleague Workers Compensation (WC) safety initiatives. Acts as Team lead for improving colleague WC safety practices, developing programs and training required to support and initiate colleague safety, health, and wellness initiatives.
What you will do
Assure compliance with regulations specific to Worker's Compensation and Joint Commission
Analyze risk exposure or potential liability and develop appropriate risk control measures
Work closely with internal safety groups and risk control support team to prevent / reduce workplace injuries and costs
Collect and interpret data to determine safety program effectiveness
Develop, implement, and review policies and procedures that guide and support the provision of services, OSHA and Joint Commission requirements and other applicable federal and state regulations
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in an allied health profession, loss prevention, Workers Compensation claims, or other healthcare-related field. Will consider a relevant associate degree with a minimum of four (4) years of experience in a healthcare or insurance role
Minimum of two (2) years of experience conducting independent project work specifically with colleague safety is required. Knowledge of OSHA record keeping and reporting required. Previous ergonomic experience is desired
CT / MA license in an Allied Healthcare field and/or valid CT / MA Worker’s Comp Adjuster License are preferred. Certified Health Care Safety Professional Certification preferred
