GENERAL SUMMARY
The Safety & Security Analyst reports to the Director of Safety & Security and assists with the districts mission to provide the highest quality of education through training, monitoring and technical/ professional guidance for Security Guards throughout the District.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in providing technical and professional guidance to district security guards.
- Trains all new security guards on site in building expectations and protocols.
- Responds to schools as needed to support for security related issues.
- Daily check ins with security guards throughout the district, including random quality checks
- Works various shifts to provide supervision and support for all guards.
- Supervises special events such as sporting events, graduations etc.
- Supports schools during arrival and dismissal as needed.
- Assists in managing all security programs, technologies and initiatives.
- Assists in emergency response drills.
- Serves as a district liaison to the Quebec unit
- Provides Safety and Security office coverage when needed.
- Assists with follow-up on school incidents.
- Attends staff development and training as required.
- Assists with daily operation of department.
MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS
- Position requires autonomy for decision making and independent judgment
- Requires at least 1-3 years of experience in the field of security. Professional officer experience preferred
- Relevant bachelor’s degree required, or educational requirement may be substituted for at least five years of experience in relevant field
- Knowledge of Springfield Public School District
- Valid Driver’s License

- Proficient technology skills, especially in Microsoft Office.
- Ability to develop and write reports, and correspondence

- Ability to exercise good judgment and focus on detail as required by the job

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or or up to 20 pounds of force constantly having to move objects.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
This position requires employee be in an office, school, and outdoor environment. Employee is frequently exposed to individuals who are rude or irate and is occasionally exposed to individuals with known violent backgrounds.
