Position Overview
The National Network to End Domestic Violence (NNEDV) seeks a Technology Safety Specialist to join the Safety Net Project. Safety Net is starting a new grant funded by the Office of Victims of Crime to provide guidance on VAWA confidentiality obligations to human trafficking programs. We are seeking someone with expertise in trafficking service provision to assist in the implementation of this new project. Safety Net focus is on the intersection of technology and intimate partner violence, sexual assault, and stalking, educating practitioners on how survivors and providers can address technology safety issues. We provide training, technical assistance, and support to victim service providers, including state/territory domestic violence coalitions, local domestic violence, sexual violence, and stalking programs, the civil/criminal justice system serving victims of intimate partner violence, and other stakeholders, such as courts, government, and technology companies.
Under the supervision of the Safety Net Director, the Specialist will be responsible for the following duties:
Key Responsibilities
Training and Technical Assistance:
- Provide national, state, territory, and local trainings on VAWA confidentiality practices in human trafficking programs.
- Provide in-depth assistance to human trafficking programs via phone, email, virtual calls, and on-site visits.
- Write and create materials, including training curriculum, handouts, app and website content, and multimedia projects.
- Advance NNEDV’s commitment to racial equity and inclusion on all levels, ensuring that work is coordinated, effective, survivor-centered, and rooted in racial justice.
Partnerships and Advocacy
- Collaborate with various stakeholders, including domestic violence coalitions, law enforcement, and technology companies, to promote best practices in technology safety.
- Assist in promoting racial equity and inclusion throughout Safety Net’s work.
Organizational Support
- Contribute to organization-wide initiatives, including communication and grant application efforts.
- Assist in organization-wide communications efforts to enhance the visibility of the organization and Safety Net.
- Help sustain Safety Net by participating in external meetings and assisting in project-specific grant application writing and/or editing.
Qualifications
- Required Skills, Education, and Experience:
- Specialist position requires 5 years of relevant work experience.

- Extensive experience working with human trafficking service providers and a solid understanding of VAWA confidentiality obligations.
- Knowledge of the impact of human trafficking, particularly concerning marginalized communities.
- Experience providing training and excellent public speaking skills.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Familiarity with advanced features of MS Office, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- A commitment to the organizational mission, anti-violence work, and racial equity.
- Desired Skills/Qualifications:
- Attendance at Safety Net Training of Trainers, Technology Summits, or similar trainings facilitated by Safety Net staff.
- Bilingual skills (e.g., reading, writing, and speaking), with Spanish preferred.
Location
NNEDV headquarters are located in Washington, DC. However, this position is remote.
This position will require occasional travel.
