The EHS Coordinator plays a key role in daily safety operations by maintaining a strong field presence, identifying and correcting hazards in real time, and supporting compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. This is a hands-on position that contributes directly to safety performance, training, inspections, and administrative support.
Essential Responsibilities
- Assist the Safety Manager with implementation and enforcement of safety programs and policies
- Support employee safety training and safety meetings
- Assist with incident investigations, including general liability claims
- Help ensure compliance with DOT regulations, including driver qualification files and recordkeeping
- Maintain accurate safety records, logs, and documentation
- Perform data entry and track safety-related information
- Provide support to operations teams to reinforce safe work practices
- Promote a positive safety culture across all departments
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Knowledge of:
- Safety-related principles and practices, regulations and laws.
- Modern office practices and procedures including the use of standard computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Search Engines and Google Maps.
Ability to:
- Implement successful training programs that positively impact the safety of our employees and the community that we serve.
- Effectively train employees on important safety-related matters.
- Actively listen to, empathize with and address employee safety concerns.
- Proactively establish trust and credibility with employees by maintaining accountability.
- Contribute to the team dynamic by promoting inclusion, support and collaboration amongst coworkers.
- Take initiative, self-manage time and productivity through multitasking.
- Effectively and concisely communicate both orally and in writing.
- Provide guidance and expert advice on safety-related information.
Education, Training & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 1–3 years of experience in safety, operations, or related field preferred (entry-level candidates with strong interest in safety are encouraged to apply)
- Basic knowledge of OSHA and DOT regulations is a plus
- Strong organizational and recordkeeping skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
