Duties
- Perform intricate braiding techniques including box braids, Senegalese twists, goddess locs, and other popular styles tailored to client preferences
- Travel to different salons, events, or client locations to provide on-site braiding services
- Consult with clients to understand their desired look, offering expert advice on hair care and styling options
- Maintain high standards of sanitation and hygiene in all procedures, including proper use of sterilization tools and sanitation practices
- Manage appointment scheduling using salon software
- Upsell additional services like hair extensions, to enhance client satisfaction and salon revenue
- Educate clients on hair maintenance, product recommendations, and styling tips for long-lasting results
- Assist in mentoring new team members by sharing techniques and best practices in hair styling and sanitation standards
Experience
- Proven expertise in hair braiding techniques such as box braids, twists, cornrows, and other protective styles
- Experience working with hair extensions and knowledge of color theory for customized styling solutions
- Familiarity with salon management software
- Strong understanding of sanitation protocols specific to cosmetology and barbering practices
- Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with diverse clients and team members
- Ability to adapt quickly while traveling between different locations and managing multiple appointments efficiently
