Summary
The Environmental, Health, and Safety Manger plans, implements and manages regulatory programs to ensure a safe and healthy work environment. Ficus on applicable environmental, health and safety program elements to meet or exceed local, state, and federal Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Safety Responsibilities:
- Responsible for compliance with all local, state, and federal OSHA rules and regulations
- At as company point of contact with OSHA and State Labor Commission
- Provide safety related training for new employees, coordinate, and conduct safety training as required for compliance with OSHA rules and regulations. Ensure training records are maintained and up to date.
- Maintain MSDS files for entire facility
- Develop, revise, implement, train, and communicate written health and safety programs as needed. Maintain Safety and Health Procedures Manuel.
- Oversell Personal Protective Equipment program – conduct and update hazard assessments
- Inspect and monitor facilities to detect existing/potential workplace hazards and for compliance with all regulations.
- Participate in accident/incident reporting, make recommendations, and ensure implementation
- Act as chairman of plant Safety Committee. Direct safety related activities projects assigned to team members.
- Maintain inventory and order medical and safety supplies as needed
- Direct the plant – wide safety incentive program including annual safety kickoff meeting, incentives awards program including and any milestone celebrations.
Health Responsibilities:
- Oversee yearly Respirator and Hearing Conservation Testing Programs
- Administer company Workers Compensation Program. Work with injured employees to insure proper medical care, report claims, interact with insurance carrier, and medical providers
- Identify trends with incidents and accidents, develop action plans to ensure safety improvement
- Oversee Return to Work Program
Environmental Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local environmental rules and regulations
- Act as company point of contact for all state, federal, and local regulatory agencies
- Submit required yearly regulatory reports including Utah Tier II Chemical Inventory Report and State Tier II Chemical Inventory Report
- Maintain and update State Air Quality Approval Order, in addition: Ensure compliance with all record keeping requirements and Submit Notification of Intent (NOI) as needed when updating approval order for plant expansion involving air emissions.
- Investigate reduction is use of hazardous materials by substitution of no hazardous chemicals
- Assist in hazardous material storage and hazardous waste disposal activities

Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university; or one to two years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge of current OSHA and EPA standards
