Rural Solar Restoration is a full-service solar repair and restoration company founded on the principle that careful planning and highly skilled professionals can quickly and efficiently address any issue that may arise on commercial, industrial, and utility-scale solar installations.
As part of our ongoing growth, we are excited to expand our team by adding an Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Manager. This role is integral to ensuring workplace safety across all RSR operations, with a focus on ground-mounted and rooftop solar PV systems. The EHS Manager will develop, implement, and oversee comprehensive safety programs to prevent workplace injuries, maintain regulatory compliance, and uphold RSR’s culture of safety and excellence.
Job Tasks:
- Develop and Implement Jobsite Safety Programs: Create, track and manage companywide safety policies and jobsite-specific safety programs.
- Standard Operating Procedures: Create SOP’s that align with RSR field operations, safety culture, and core values.
- Safety Audits and Inspections: Conduct regular site inspections of solar PV systems, equipment, and work practices to identify hazards and ensure compliance with OSHA and company standards.
- Incident Investigation: Lead thorough investigations of accidents and near misses, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions. Revise procedures, practices, and methods to prevent
recurrence. Communicate findings and preventative measures clearly and effectively.
- Risk Assessment: Evaluate potential electrical and operational hazards and create strategies to mitigate risks, including using tools like arc flash analysis.
- Safety Training: Provide regular safety training to employees on topics such as electrical hazard identification, lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures, arc flash safety, fall
protection, emergency response, and the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Emergncey Response Planning: Develop and implement protocols for jobsite incidents, ensuring all workers are properly trained.
- Regulatory Compliance: Stay current on OSHA and industry safety standards, ensure all jobsite activities comply with federal, state and local requirements.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain up to date and accurate records of safety audits, training, incidents and inspections. Track daily safety documentation from multiple concurrent job sites.
Desired Qualifications:
- Education: A bachelor's degree in engineering (electrical or related field), safety management, safety and occupational health or a related discipline is preferred.
- Industry Expertise: Demonstrated experience creating, managing, and enforcing safety program for commercial and industrial electrical environments.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of construction job site safety standards, OSHA requirements, LOTO procedures, arc flash analysis, DART and TRIR, and related electrical safety concepts and measures.
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to convey safety concepts clearly to field teams and managemens
· Organizational Skills: Highly organized and efficient multitasker with proven ability to manage multiple projects and track documentation across several active jobsites.
- Team Collaboration: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships amongst a diverse team and foster a culture of safety.
- Problem Solving: Strong analytical and decision-making abilities with a commitment to proactive risk management.
- Continuous Learning: Commitment to ongoing education and professional development in safety and compliance practices
- Certifications: Certifications such as Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Associate Safety Professional (ASP) or other relevant certifications are beneficial. If not already completed, certification(s) must be obtained promptly upon employment.
Compensation and benefits:
