This role is highly operational and compliance-focused, ensuring that established company policies, OSHA standards, regulatory requirements, insurance protocols, and customer safety expectations are consistently followed in warehouses, fabrication environments, offices, transportation activities, and live production job sites.
This position plays a critical leadership and partnership role within the organization by working closely with each Director of Operations at every SGPS ShowRig location to ensure safety expectations are consistently executed in daily operations. Success in this role requires strong collaboration, communication, coaching, and the ability to build accountability for safety across all departments.
This position reports to the EVP of HR and directly supervises the Safety Coordinator, ensuring consistent safety support, documentation, training coordination, and follow-through across all sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement, administer, and monitor all environmental health, safety, and security programs across SGPS ShowRig facilities and job sites.
- Provide day-to-day leadership and direction to the Safety Coordinator, ensuring consistent execution of inspections, documentation, training tracking, and reporting.
- Partner closely with each Director of Operations to embed safety practices into daily workflows across warehouse (shipping, receiving, staging), fabrication, motors, welding, transportation, and job site activities.
- Conduct regular safety meetings, audits, training drills, inspections, and compliance reviews to identify hazards and correct violations.
- Maintain safety logs, incident reporting, OSHA documentation, and required compliance records.

- Provide guidance and coaching to Project Managers, Supervisors, Show Crew and Operations leaders to ensure job sites meet OSHA, federal, state, local, and client safety standards.
- Administer and maintain the company Emergency Action Plan and required OSHA reporting protocols.
- Work closely with department supervisors and Directors of Operations to identify hazards, evaluate near-miss reports, review accident trends, and ensure proper PPE usage.
- Manage and maintain all requirements for our drivers under DOT compliance when applicable.
- Manage all COI requests with clients, and partner closely with all liability policies and workers compensation.
- Ensure compliance with customer, venue, and touring safety protocols for in-house and road operations.
- Coordinate environmental and safety orientations for employees and project teams.
- Maintain current safety and security contact information and documentation for all projects and facilities.
- Manage and administer OSHA compliance requirements and partner with the company’s Workers’ Compensation provider.

- Support insurance audits, safety audits, and documentation requests from insurance carriers, legal, finance, and operations.
- Perform other duties related to risk management, safety, compliance, and operational partnership as assigned.
Leadership & Partnership Expectations

- Build strong working relationships with Directors of Operations, Supervisors, and Project Managers at every site.
- Provide coaching and practical safety guidance that aligns with real operational workflows.
- Ensure the Safety Coordinator is effectively deployed to support the needs of each site.
- Promote a culture where safety is viewed as part of operational excellence, not a separate function.
