The Product Manager - Eggs & Fresh Meat is responsible for driving the profit and loss performance and operating cash flow of the product lines for Eggs and Fresh Meat packaging solutions. This role involves developing and executing product line strategies, managing the product lifecycle, optimizing pricing, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The position requires collaboration with supply chain and NPD, business development, and sales teams.
JOB RESPONISIBILITES
Key Responsibilities:
1. Development, and Execution of Product Strategy:
- Collaborate with GIC, Marketing, and Sales to create and execute the 5 year Product Line Sustainability Roadmap.
- Lead monthly cross-functional team meetings to track and drive product line performance, including top-line sales, margin, cash flow, and balance sheet results.
- Develop and refine the Product and Service Offer (P&SO) to meet customer and market needs while optimizing Tekni-Plex’s operational efficiency and cash flow.
- Support business unit capital investment processes for growth-oriented initiatives.
- Conduct make-versus-buy analysis and provide actionable recommendations for the product line.
- Oversee innovation and development (I&D) projects focused on growth and market expansion.
2. Product Lifecycle Management:
- Lead raw material Product Line Expansions (PLE) and manage PLE initiatives for existing offerings.
- Execute SKU rationalization to streamline the product portfolio.
3. Product, Portfolio & Innovation Management:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure on-time, high-quality product development meeting customer and market needs.
- Write detailed product requirements and acceptance criteria to guide engineering / design teams.
- Match production capabilities to customer demand in all related products.
- Drive innovation through market differentiation and competitive packaging solutions.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product performance, reduce costs, and improve customer satisfaction.
4. Pricing:
- Develop and maintain pricing strategies to optimize profitability and competitiveness.
- Ensure pricing hygiene and consistency across product lines and systems.
5. Go-To-Market:
- Develop and execute go-to-market strategies, including product positioning, messaging, and pricing.
- Craft compelling narratives, user stories and value propositions tailoring Tekni-Plex products offerings to deliver value for our customers and markets.
- Partner with marketing and sales for product launches and promotional materials.
- Monitor product performance post-launch and continuously optimize based on feedback and market conditions.
6. Sales Enablement:
- Create strategies to support sales growth and customer penetration.
- Define Price in conjunction with Sales on Request for Information (RFI), Request for Proposal (RFP) Customer/Sales requests.
7. Performance Measurement:
- Establish KPIs to evaluate product performance, focusing on market and customer share and year-over-year growth.
- Continuously optimized based on feedback and performance data
JOB QUALIFICATIONS EQUIPMENT AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of 3 years of experience on Product Management and related roles within the packaging industry.
- Demonstrated track record of managing all aspects of a successful product throughout its lifecycle.
- Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills to translate market insights into actionable plans for packaging solutions.
- Superior analytical capabilities, judgment and proactive nature in solving a broad range of diverse and complex situations
- Strong project management skills, with a focus on fostering innovation and collaboration.
- Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and inspire cross-functional teams.
- Bilingual English/Spanish is a Plus*
- Due to the intercompany processes with LATAM (mainly Mex and Col) and accounting processes centralized in LATAM
