The essential role of this position is to:
Oversee, manage and direct the safety aspect of the field operations of the project from beginning to end.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive, site-specific Health and Safety/Accident Prevention Plan.
- Supervise and administer safety activities.
- Participate in progress meetings to present the company safety plan/policies and explain implementation and standards on the project.
- Conduct employee and subcontractor safety orientation.
- Conduct accident investigations on the job site and report them.
- Review, interpret and provide direction and compliance on safety regulations and standards.
- Monitor company and subcontractor safety performance.
- Conduct toolbox talks, project audits and safety inspections.
- Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
