Smithlife HomeCare seeks a compassionate, attentive, and responsible Live-In Home Health Aide (HHA) to care for an aging woman in her home. This role ensures her physical, emotional, and social needs are met while fostering a safe, comfortable, and enhancing living environment.
Personal Care and Daily Living Assistance:
- Support with dressing, including fastening clothing and jewelry.
- Encourage and assist with personal hygiene and bathing (standby support as needed).
- Prepare or assist with simple meals and promote healthy eating habits.
- Drive and accompany the client to grocery stores, doctor’s appointments, social activities, and family gatherings.
- Take notes during doctor’s appointments if required.
- Help manage the client’s schedule, including maintaining her social calendar and scheduling activities with friends and family.
- Assist with basic computer tasks, such as opening Netflix.
- Handle small household tasks the client needs help managing.
- Maintain open, regular communication with the client’s four adult children.
- Update and manage a shared online calendar for appointments and schedules.
Pet Care:
- Provide short walks (5-15 minutes) for a miniature poodle, 2-3 times daily.
Additional Requirements:
- Live-in caregiver must be a licensed driver with a reliable driving record.
- Caregiver will receive 8 hours of daily sleep time.
- Occasional travel with the client to her Lewes, Delaware residence may be required.
Qualifications:
- Valid/Current DC HHA Certification
- Valid/Current CPR Certifications
- Covid-Vaccine (both doses)
- At least 2 years of professional experience as a caregiver preferred
- Ability to work Every Friday 8am to Monday 8am
- Recent Tuberculosis screening
- Health Certificate
- COVID-19 vaccination is mandatory.
- Previous experience as a live-in caregiver or home health aide.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Empathy, patience, and excellent interpersonal communication.
- Basic computer skills to assist with online tasks and calendar management.
- Ability to work independently and respond promptly to client needs.

Compensation:
- Make $336.00 per hour with the possibility of overtime at time and a half pay.
