Comprehensive One-on-One Care for Individual with Special Needs
Are you a compassionate, reliable, and experienced caregiver? We are seeking a dedicated Direct Support Professional (DSP) for a unique, one-on-one caregiving position. This role requires an individual with strong commitment, attention to detail, and the capability to provide comprehensive support for all daily tasks to ensure the individual’s safety, comfort, and quality of life.

Key Responsibilities:
- Meal Preparation and Feeding:
- Prepare meals that meet specific dietary and consistency needs, cutting foods into small, manageable pieces to ensure safe eating.
- Provide direct assistance with every meal, carefully monitoring to prevent choking and adjusting as needed to ensure safe swallowing.
- Personal Hygiene Support:
- Assist with toileting and personal hygiene multiple times daily, including providing full support and personal cleaning assistance after restroom use to maintain dignity and cleanliness.
- Support oral hygiene by assisting with tooth brushing and grooming tasks, maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and care.
- Assist with bathing and dressing, helping to create a respectful and comfortable routine.
- Mobility and Physical Support:
- Provide gentle support with walking and general mobility, helping prevent falls and ensuring safety during daily activities.
- Accompany the individual in indoor and outdoor activities, promoting a safe and enjoyable experience in all settings.
- Health and Safety Monitoring:
- Observe and respond to non-verbal cues, including cues for restroom breaks and snack times, particularly when out in the community, with full support and assistance for restroom hygiene after use.
- Maintain a calm, supportive environment and respond to needs promptly, ensuring a stable, safe, and comfortable setting.
- Household Maintenance Related to Care:
- Keep all areas used by the individual clean and organized, ensuring a safe and hygienic environment.
- Manage laundry and keep personal items accessible, promoting smooth daily routines and a comfortable living space.
Required Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years in a similar or equivalent role, with a strong record of reliability and quality caregiving.
- References: Three references from current or past employers are required to verify experience and commitment to high-quality care.
- Certification: Must hold a current CPR/First Aid certification.
- Background: A clean background and criminal record check are mandatory.
Skills and Attributes:
- Exceptional attentiveness, able to understand and respond to non-verbal cues effectively, especially regarding restroom and snack breaks when out in the community, with full support for hygiene after restroom use.
- Patience, compassion, and adaptability to provide respectful, high-quality support.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to promoting dignity and well-being.
- Proven cooking skills, particularly in preparing meals with specific consistency requirements to meet safety needs.

Pay: $35.00 - $49.50 per hour
