**Schedule:** We need one safety coordinator for each night shift option.
**Option 1:** 40-50 hours per week, with 10-hour shifts, working 4-5 days a week, typically from Monday to Thursday, and some Fridays. Shifts will run from 6 PM to 4 AM.
**Option 2:** 40-50 hours per week, with a combination of 10 and 12-hour shifts. The schedule is Monday to Wednesday from 6 AM to 4 PM, Thursdays from 6 AM to 6 PM, and Fridays as needed from 6 AM to 6 PM.
Project Scope:
The project involves a new data center construction, focusing on the installation and integration of electrical systems. The Safety Coordinators will work closely with the electrical contractor to ensure that all construction activities comply with safety protocols, OSHA standards, and industry regulations. This role requires expertise in managing safety on complex, fast-paced data center projects, which include high-risk activities such as electrical work, confined space entry, and heavy equipment operation.
Qualifications:
Experience:
Minimum of 4 years in construction safety, with electrical safety experience preferred. Previous experience managing safety on data center construction projects is highly desirable.
Certifications:
STS-C or higher Required. Additional electrical safety, confined space, and fall protection qualifications are a plus.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive safety inspections and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and site-specific safety protocols.
- Lead safety orientations for new employees and subcontractors on-site, with a focus on high-risk data center activities.
- Develop and implement safety training tailored to the needs of electrical contractors and data center construction teams.
- Monitor daily site operations, enforce safety practices, and promote a culture of safety across all teams involved in the project.
- Review and maintain safety documentation, contractor correspondence, and incident reports.
- Coordinate with project management to address and mitigate potential safety risks.
- Perform additional environmental health and safety (EHS) tasks as required based on project needs.
Skills:
- Excellent public speaking, communication, and leadership skills to effectively train and engage with the workforce.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and safety management software.
- Strong organizational skills with a meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities, working both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- OSHA outreach training experience is highly valued.
Work Environment:
This role is primarily based in a data center construction setting but may involve some work in warehouse and manufacturing environments. The position may require after-hours work or weekend availability in response to project demands or emergencies.
