Job Overview
The SDI Safety Technician plays an important role in several key areas for our projects to be successful. This position is responsible for ensuring a safe and healthy working environment for employees in our projects. This position works closely with employees, supervisors, and management to identify, evaluate, and eliminate safety hazards. He/she also creates and implements safety programs, provides safety training, and conducts safety inspections. This key position requires exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Developing and enforcing safety policies and procedures.
- Conducts regular site inspections, identify potential hazards, and implements corrective measures.
- Investigates accidents, near misses, and safety violations, and recommends corrective actions.
- Coordinates safety training programs, ensuring the proper use of personal protective equipment, and maintaining records of safety activities and incidents.
- Participates in safety audits and compliance assessments.
- Oversees administrative tasks, such as contract negotiation, procurement, and document management, to maintain project documentation.
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise construction projects from conception to completion.
- Enforce and promote a culture of safety on-site, ensuring that all team members adhere to safety protocols and regulations.
- Maintain high construction quality standards and ensure work meets project specifications and client expectations.
- Maintain open and effective communication with other project manager(s), engineers, and other stakeholders.
- Documentation and record-keeping.
- Safety protocol implementation and monitoring.
- Quality control and assurance.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Safety Tech or similar position in the construction industry.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Thoroughness and reliability.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively train employees on safety protocols.

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
