Responsibilities:
In addition to being able to function effectively as part of a team, a successful applicant will need to:
- Develop and implement site-specific Accident Prevention Program (APP), task-specific SafeWork Plan (SWP) and Tool Box Talks.
- Implement the Emergency Action Plan (EAP).
- Ensure that all Federal, State and local safety and health regulations are being implemented.
- Conduct daily and weekly safety meeting with the workforce and management.
- Lead in incident investigation and development of corrective action(s).
- Possess strong organizational and communication skills.
- Demonstrate ability to use Microsoft Office programs like Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Display willingness to learn and participate in company-wide systems for project tracking, communication, etc.
Qualifications:
Applicants for the position Must Have:
- Minimum of 5 years of prior related experience.
- At least one (1) year of NYC Transit experience, of which at least ninety (90) days must be ROW (right of way) work experience that includes Flagging/General Order work.
- NYS DOL Asbestos Inspectors License.
- C-3 Supervisor / Competent Person for De-leading of Industrial Structures Certificate
- NYCDOB 40 Hour Site Safety Manager Course Completion Certificate.
- 30 Hour OSHA Construction Safety Training Course Completion Certificate.
Applicants for the position Nice to Have:
- Prior acceptance as either Safety Manager or Safety Coordinator for the MTA
- Experience with Teamwork
- An active membership in ASSP (American Society of Safety Professionals
