Clover Leaf Solutions is looking for a Safety Specialist to support FEMA recovery efforts in Ruidoso, New Mexico. This role will focus on post-wildfire and mudslide recovery operations, including forest clearing and debris removal, ensuring safety protocols are upheld throughout. The Safety Specialist will play a vital role in safeguarding workers, maintaining compliance with safety standards, and supporting recovery efforts in this critical region.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and enforce safety protocols during forest clearing and debris removal operations.
- Help develop Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) for work level activities and implement them in the field.
- Conduct regular safety audits, hazard assessments, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Provide safety training and guidance to recovery teams, ensuring compliance with FEMA and Army Corps of Engineers standards.
- Monitor worksite activities to ensure all recovery efforts meet environmental and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and field personnel to promote a safety-first culture.
- Maintain accurate safety documentation and incident reporting records.
- Support compliance with all applicable safety regulations, including obtaining the Army Corps of Engineers Safety Certification within six months if not already certified.
Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship required.
- Previous safety experience in disaster recovery, construction, forestry, or related fields is strongly desired.
- Ability to work 12-hour days for 7 days per week for an extended period of time.
- Ability to work in challenging outdoor environments, including uneven terrain and adverse weather conditions.
- Strong understanding of OSHA standards and FEMA safety requirements.
- Army Corps of Engineers Safety Certification or willingness to obtain it within six months.
- Excellent communication and team collaboration skills.
- Proficiency in safety documentation, audits, and incident reporting.
