Overview
The Field Safety Specialist reports directly to the Director of Safety and works
closely with the Risk Safety Manager to promote and maintain a strong safety culture throughout the organization. This position is responsible for supporting field operations by monitoring job sites, providing safety training, conducting inspections, and ensuring compliance with company safety policies and regulatory requirements. The Field Safety Specialist plays a critical role in helping the organization maintain safe work practices while supporting operational growth without compromising safety or quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Inspect equipment, tools, and working conditions to ensure the safety of employees performing construction and maintenance work on overhead and underground electrical distribution systems.
- Inspect fall protection systems, ladders, ropes, rubber goods, and tools, ensuring they meet industry and regulatory standards.
- Conduct regular job site inspections to identify and document hazardous or potentially hazardous conditions.
- Recommend corrective actions and follow up to ensure identified hazards are resolved.
Safety Monitoring & Field Support
- Observe field crews during operations to ensure safe work practices are being followed.
- Document and report both safety deficiencies and positive safety behaviors.
- Work closely with field supervisors and project management to promote safe work practices.
Training & Safety Education
- Lead and support safety training sessions for field personnel.
- Ensure employees are properly trained and equipped with appropriate safety equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Support ongoing safety education and awareness initiatives across the organization
Incident Investigation & Reporting
- Investigate and Document incidents including vehicle accidents, property damage, and procedural errors
- Assist In Identifying root causes and implementing corrective and preventive actions.
- Maintain accurate documentation related to incidents and safety activities.
Collaboration & Safety Culture
- Work collaboratively with project managers, supervisors, and field crews to support safe operations.
- Contribute to a team-oriented environment that supports the organizations safety goals and operational standards.
Pay: $85,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year
