Ruane Clinical Research is seeking a highly motivated, energetic individual who is interested in learning the ins and outs of being a Clinical Research Assistant.
MEANINGFUL WORK FROM DAY ONE
Clinical Research Assistants have a direct responsibility to patients and to the success of our trials.
WHAT ARE ?
Clinical trials investigate the safety and effectiveness of new medications. These trials are made possible by patients who volunteer to take part. We perform FDA approved clinical trials; in the last 10 years, this work has led to the FDA approval of many groundbreaking new treatments that has transformed the lives of many patients.
SOME OF YOUR TYPICAL DAILY TASKS:
- Scheduling patients
- Checking vital signs (measuring blood pressure, temperature, height, weight)
- Interviewing patients (checking to see if they are adhering to the study requirements)
- Collecting blood samples (only after sufficient training, provided by us)
- Processing clinical samples in our lab (centrifuging, separating, organizing, shipping)
- Collecting and counting bottles and study medication pills, reporting adherence and compliance
- Labeling and organizing study kits
- Adhering to protocol-defined procedures
- Performing EKGs
- Scanning, printing and filing lab reports and results
- Daily direct communication with study coordinators and doctors
- Reviewing medical records and extracting clinical data
- Managing inventory, ordering and shipping
