Role: Safety Officer(OSHA standards)

Location: Columbus, OH
Safety Officer is primarily responsible for ensuring compliance with all occupational health and safety (OHS) regulations, specifically tailored to the operational risks of aluminium and alloy conductor production environments in the USA.
· Develop and enforce OHS policies relevant to aluminium and alloy conductor manufacturing, ensuring alignment with OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) and local regulations.
· Conduct risk assessments for processes involving hazardous substances, heavy machinery, molten metal handling, and electrical hazards, and implement preventive measures.
· Provide regular safety training for all staff, with special focus on chemical handling, lock-out/tag-out procedures, PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) use, and emergency response.
· Monitor and inspect work areas, production lines, storage areas, and waste handling processes to detect non-compliance or unsafe conditions.
· Investigate workplace incidents, accidents, and near misses; document findings; and implement corrective actions.
· Maintain records of safety inspections, incidents, hazardous material handling, and waste disposal as required by law.
· Liaise with regulatory agencies and ensure the plant conforms to state and federal safety standards.
· Oversee the safe storage and handling of aluminium ingots, alloys, fluxes, and other hazardous chemicals, ensuring proper ventilation and fire control measures are in place.
· Monitor processes such as smelting, extrusion, casting, and wire drawing for heat, electrical, and mechanical hazards.
· Ensure environmental controls, such as dust extraction and fume capture, are operating effectively.
· Lead regular drills for fire, chemical spill, and electrical emergency scenarios.
Required Skills:
* 5+ Years of safety management experience in a manufacturing or heavy industry setting.
* Strong knowledge of U.S. safety legislation (OSHA standards), hazardous material management, and manufacturing best practices.
* Knowledge of legal compliance for safety, health and environment. knowledge of factory legislation.
Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
