As the Safety Specialist for the Cooling, Power & Connectivity division, you will directly protect the lives, health, and careers of field technicians working across HVAC, generators, UPS systems, telecom towers, and field engineering operations.
Your expertise will drive measurable improvements in electrical safety, vehicle safety, and regulatory compliance, reducing incidents, preventing injuries, and strengthening Pearce's reputation with customers, regulators, and insurers.
You will operate as a trusted advisor to operations leadership, exercising independent judgment in high-risk situations, shaping safety strategy, and leading a proactive safety culture across one of the company's most technically complex and safety-critical divisions.
Lead investigations for injuries, vehicle incidents, near-misses, and electrical events
Perform root-cause analysis and determine corrective and preventive actions
Exercise discretion to escalate hazards, stop unsafe work, and recommend operational changes
Serve as the subject-matter expert for NFPA 70E, LOTO, energized work, and electrical exposure risk
Lead the driver safety and fleet risk program, including:
Telematics review
Behavioral coaching
Vehicle safety standards
Design, develop, and deliver training in:
Create and update safety procedures, job hazard analyses, and checklists
Analyze leading and lagging indicators (TRIR, DART, PVIR, telematics, electrical exposure, near-misses)
Identify trends and recommend targeted safety interventions and controls
Conduct field audits, observations, and toolbox talks
Partner with HVAC, Generator, UPS, Tower, and Engineering leadership to reduce risk and improve compliance
Support OSHA, DOT, EPA, Cal/OSHA, and customer audits
Prepare and present safety performance reports and improvement plans
Maintain accurate incident, audit, and training documentation
3+ years in field safety, safety coordination, or EHS supporting HVAC, generators, telecom, UPS, or field engineering
Strong working knowledge of:
Proven experience conducting incident investigations, audits, and field risk assessments
Experience using safety data, telematics, and performance metrics to drive improvement
Ability to work independently in the field and make risk-based decisions
