Purpose:
As a Safety Manager at Knobelsdorff, you will be the driving force behind our safety performance, reporting, and adherence. Under the guidance of the Senior Safety Manager, you will support one of our divisions and utilize your in-depth understanding of OSHA safety practices and Knobelsdorff procedures to ensure that our projects are completed safely. This is a position requiring management experience in safety, with the flexibility to travel nationwide and perform field audits and inspections. The position must have the capabilities to work within our Goodhue MN and Eagan Offices as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Travel: Visit job sites across the U.S. as needed (Extensive travel required).
- Mentorship: Guide and mentor project teams on safety policies and procedures.
- Training: Provide education and training to project teams.
- Documentation: Oversee and audit project-level safety documentation.
- Regulation Compliance: Maintain knowledge of Federal, State, and OSHA regulations.
- Safety Audits & Investigations: Conduct safety audits, incident investigations, and manage workers' compensation claims.
- Supervision: Ensure employee adherence to all safety rules and regulations.
- Reporting: Create and coordinate mandated safety statistics reports.
- Risk Assessment: Implement risk assessment procedures and mitigation strategies.
- On-Site Support: Assist field personnel with EHS/OHS challenges and attend “Tailgate” meetings to discuss job site hazards and best practices.
- Pre-Construction Preparation: Assist with safety-related pre-construction preparation and coordination.
- Flexibility: Willingness to travel and work occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Qualifications:

- Training Experience: Experience in classroom and field training.
- Travel Availability: Ability to travel nationally, including overnight stays.
- Educational Background: Associate degree in Safety Management or Construction Management, or equivalent work experience.
- Certifications: First Aid/CPR/AED/Fall Protection Competent Person Certified and OSHA 30 Certified, or willingness to obtain upon hire.
- Experience: Prefer 3-5 years as a Safety Manager or similar role, with experience in Industrial electrical preferably in food/dairy or grain processing.
- Administrative Skills: Basic project and construction field administration experience.
- Driving: Valid driver’s license with a history of safe driving.
- Technical Proficiency: Competency in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Screening: Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit, stand, kneel, stoop, walk, and sit for long periods.
- Capable of working in extreme temperatures and lifting up to 80 lbs.
- Willingness to “lend a hand and get dirty” if needed.
