Job Summary
Icon Fire & Safety is expanding into fire alarm installation, inspection, testing, and service across Tennessee. We are seeking a Tennessee-licensed Alarm Qualifying Agent (AQA) to serve as the Qualifying Agent of Record for our Alarm Contracting License. This is a part-time contract position with highly flexible scheduling.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the Qualifying Agent of Record for Icon Fire & Safety’s Tennessee Alarm Contracting License.
- Provide required supervision and oversight for alarm-related work (fire alarm, burglar, CCTV, access control) in accordance with TN state laws and regulations.
- Review plans, permits, and documentation as needed.
- Provide technical guidance to ensure compliance with NFPA 72 and local AHJ requirements.
- Optional: participate in training, field QA checks, or project oversight (additional compensation available).
Requirements
- Current Tennessee Alarm Qualifying Agent License (AQA) required.
- Minimum 3 years of verifiable alarm industry experience.
- Strong knowledge of NFPA 72 and commercial alarm systems.
- Ability to provide oversight remotely with occasional on-site support when needed.
- Professional communication and reliability.
Compensation
Compensation is flexible and can be structured in one of the following ways based on contractor preference:
- Monthly retainer: $500–$1,500 per month
- Retainer plus project-based override (1–3%)
- Per-project compensation
