As a Safety Specialist, you will be joining Zywave’s industry-leading Content Development Team. You will leverage your employee safety and risk management expertise to help development resources utilized by safety professionals, insurance carriers, risk managers, and independent insurance agents and brokers to help their insureds improve their safety culture. What’s more, you will be responsible for overseeing a content roadmap that focuses on pressing employee safety issues to ensure that our customers’ requirements and needs are met.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop industry-leading employee safety resources including, but not limited to employee safety programs, safety presentations and employee safety talks.
- Outline content needs by researching, evaluating, categorizing, and prioritizing content for applications. Analyze and report on content utilization and refine content needs accordingly.
- Independently research industry publications to make recommendations and build out future content.
- Track employee safety trends.
- Participate in a cross-functional team to proactively analyze content needs as well as evaluate competition in this product space.
- Work with product management and content writing teams to prioritize specifications and execute analysis required for functionality changes involving content within the product.
- Act as an employee safety subject matter expert.
- Work with Zywave team to ensure that product content remains timely and accurate.
- Participate in professional organizations and maintain current knowledge of risk management and commercial insurance marketplace trends that may have implications for research and evaluation.
- Perform other tasks on projects as needed/assigned by management.
Factors for Success
- Bachelor’s Degree and work experience in insurance industry or employee safety settings
- Experience within loss control or employee safety roles
- Demonstrated knowledge employee safety concepts and terminology
- Completed or working toward risk management, employee safety and insurance certifications such as Associate Safety Professional (ASP), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Associate in Risk Management (ARM) preferred
- Working knowledge of OSHA (CFR Part 1910 and CFR Part 1926), ANSI and NFPA Standards
- Ability to understand Zywave’s products, customers and partners needs in commercial insurance industry.
- Solid, demonstrated written communication skills required, with an ability to create reader-friendly documents.
- Capacity to manage multiple projects with tight deadlines.
- Ability to explain complex risk management and employee safety topics in a way that a layperson can understand.
- Excellent team, oral communications and interpersonal skills.
