Qualifications and Details about the Position
I. Basic Function a. Applies knowledge of Health, Safety and Environmental principles, theories, concepts, industry practices and standards to performance of work b. Performs duties under general supervision where work product may be reviewed, as required, for adequacy and accuracy c. May supervise the HSE Program for one or more small projects or discrete events within a single location d. Assists in implementing the corporate Health, Safety and Environment programs in an assigned area, small project, discrete event or customer facility. II. Requirements a. Three (3) years of experience required, two years technical training, and/or advanced medical certification preferred. b. Minimum requirements for acceptance is the completion of core and advanced safety programs that demonstrate a candidates understanding of applicable rules, laws and regulations governing occupational safety and health c. Certifications in occupational health and safety will be weighted along with formalized education. Monitors compliance through surveys and observance in order to advise management about deficiencies ii. Develop, coordinate and monitor HSE Programs to ensure compliance with occupational health, safety and environmental regulations, company and client policies and procedures iii. Provides ongoing communication to management concerning the assessment of the HSE program performance with associated recommended proactive and/or corrective actions iv. Serves as a resource for the technical interpretation of health, safety and environmental regulatory requirements v. Investigates accidents to ascertain causes for use in recommending preventive measures and developing HSE program revisions, as necessary vi. Inspects worksites and prepares report of findings with recommendations for corrective actions vii. Tests working areas for noise, toxic, and other chemical and physical hazards, using industrial hygiene monitoring equipment viii. Observes workers to determine compliance with respective HSE policies and procedures ix. Maintains knowledge of jurisdictional, company and client HSE regulations x. Provides/develops technical HSE training aimed at regulatory and procedural compliance xi. Conducts HSE Management training for supervisory and management personnel xii.
