Project Duration: 6-9 months
Job Type: 1099 Contract
Compensation:
- Hourly Rate: $50-$55/hr
- Daily Per Diem: $125
- Pay Frequency: Weekly
Schedule:
- Monday-Friday, 40-hour weeks
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead project safety audits and inspections to identify and address hazards.
- Develop and deliver comprehensive safety training for all employees and subcontractors.
- Monitor compliance with OSHA standards, company policies, and data center safety protocols.
- Collaborate with electrical contractors to enforce safety measures during high-risk activities, including electrical systems installation and confined space entry.
- Manage and maintain safety documentation, including logs, reports, and correspondence with contractors.
- Conduct incident investigations, recommend corrective actions, and ensure follow-up.
- Develop and implement site-specific job hazard analyses (JHAs) and safety plans.
- Act as the primary point of contact for all EHS-related matters on-site.
Project Scope:
This data center construction project focuses on electrical systems installation and integration. The Safety Manager will oversee safety compliance and risk mitigation for high-risk tasks, including electrical work, confined space entry, and heavy equipment operation. This fast-paced environment demands strong leadership and expertise in safety management.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years in construction safety, with direct experience in data center projects.
- Certifications: BCSP certification required (e.g., Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Associate Safety Professional (ASP)).
- Familiarity with NFPA 70E or other electrical safety standards.
- Proven ability to create and implement safety plans and job hazard analyses (JHAs).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Strong communication and public speaking skills.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- OSHA outreach training experience is a plus.
Knowledge Requirements:
- Extensive understanding of OSHA regulations, industry EHS standards, and electrical safety protocols.
- Proven track record in managing safety on fast-paced, high-risk construction projects.
