Position Mission:
To coordinate a safety strategy program that protects our people, minimizes risk, and ensures
consistent compliance across all Intermountain Home Services brands and locations.
Overview:
Intermountain Home Services is seeking a Safety Specialist to coordinate compliance programs
in a rapidly growing multi-state, residential services industry (HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical).
This role is responsible for supporting and strengthening the company’s safety culture, ensuring
compliance with safety regulations, reducing workplace incidents, and promoting best practices
across field operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support, develop, and enforce compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal
regulations, including Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)
- Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of company safety policies
and procedures
- Conduct regular jobsite safety inspections for plumbing, HVAC, and electrical field
teams
- Ensure proper documentation and recordkeeping of safety audits, training logs, and
incident reports
- Oversee vehicle safety and driver compliance programs, including inspections, incident
tracking, and training
- Perform ride-alongs and field observations to identify hazards and coach technicians in
real time
- Ensure proper use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)
- Conduct new hire safety orientation for field technicians
- Track trends and provide data-driven insights to management
- Serve as a resource and point of contact for safety questions
Monitor safe practices related to:
- Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)
- Confined space awareness
- Ladder and fall protection
- Electrical hazard mitigation
- Refrigerant handling and HVAC safety
- Trenching and excavation (plumbing)
- Fleet and driving safety

Qualifications:
Required
- Min 2 + years of experience in field-based safety environments
- Working knowledge of OSHA standards
- Experience in trades, utilities, construction, HVAC, or transportation
- Experience conducting field audits and safety inspections
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Willingness to travel 25–50%
Preferred
- Bachelor's degree in EHS, Industrial Hygiene, or related field
- CSP, CHST, or other relevant safety certifications
- OSHA 30 certificate and OSHA 501 Training Certifications
