As an Environmental Health and Safety Manager, you will be responsible for implementing and managing environmental, health, and safety programs for our organization. You will ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, promote a culture of safety and environmental responsibility, and identify and mitigate potential hazards and risks.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain environmental, health, and safety policies and procedures that comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Provide training and education to employees on safety procedures and best practice.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections of facilities and equipment to identify potential hazards and risks.
- Investigate accidents and incidents to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Conduct risk assessments related to jobs performed (Job Hazard Analysis) and new equipment introductions.
- Record keeping of OSHA logs.
- Support Quality Assurance with external ISO audits.
- Develop and maintain relationships with regulatory agencies and other stakeholders.
- Serve as the point of contact for employees, management, and regulatory agencies on environmental, health, and safety matters.
- Stay up to date with emerging trends and regulations in environmental, health, and safety, and make recommendations for improvement.
- Identify budgetary needs to address risk reduction and compliance assurance.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations (40 CFR) and manage environmental programs, including waste management and hazardous materials handling.
- Oversee the implementation and continuous improvement of environmental programs, including:
- Hazardous waste management in accordance with generator category requirements (VSQG, SQG, LQG), and e-Manifest submissions.
- Safety storage, labeling, and transportation, ensuring compliance with DOT regulations.
- Chemical Reporting (e.g. Sara Tier II Report)
- Perform safety and environmental inspections.
- Monitor and report on sustainability data/initiatives to Stadler ESG Team.
- Ensure proper permitting and reporting for environmental compliance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in environmental health and safety, industrial hygiene, or related field
- 4+ years of experience in environmental, health, and safety management
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal environmental, health, and safety regulations
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- OSHA 30 Certified
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations specifically 29 CFR 1910
