Safety Coordinator - Construction / Industrial Experience Required (inc. OSHA 30)
We are seeking a dedicated Safety Coordinator to ensure a safe and compliant work environment for all employees. This position requires working under the Safety Manager and spending approximately 90% of the time onsite with crews to enforce safety protocols and mitigate hazards. The ideal candidate must have completed the OSHA 30 course and be willing to complete additional safety training as required.
Responsibilities & Expectations:
Monitor onsite activities to ensure crews are following safety regulations and company policies.
Conduct daily site safety inspections, identify hazards, and implement corrective actions.
Enforce the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and safe work practices.
Assist with conducting and documenting toolbox talks, safety meetings, and training sessions.
Work closely with the Safety Manager to implement safety initiatives and compliance programs.
Investigate accidents, near misses, and incidents, and provide reports with corrective measures.
Ensure compliance with OSHA standards and company-specific safety policies.
Assist in developing Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), Or Activity Hazard Analysis (AHA), and safety procedures for various tasks.
Participate in emergency response planning and drills.
Promote a proactive safety culture and encourage employee engagement in safety programs.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Must have completed OSHA 30 certification (additional safety courses preferred).
1-3 years of experience in construction safety, industrial safety, or a related field.
Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, hazard recognition, and risk mitigation.
Excellent communication and leadership skills to effectively guide and educate crews.
Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and be on-site 90% of the time.
Strong observational and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and ability to maintain safety documentation.
Additional certifications such as OSHA 10, First Aid/CPR, and Fall Protection, are a plus.
Work Environment:
90% onsite fieldwork at construction or industrial job sites.
May require travel between multiple project locations.
Exposure to construction hazards; must wear PPE as required.
