Job Summary: The Safety Manager is responsible for leading Moran Transportation’s Safety, Compliance, and Training programs to ensure full adherence with DOT, OSHA, and applicable federal and state regulations. This role drives a culture of safety across all terminals, manages incident investigations and workers’ compensation cases, and implements proactive initiatives to reduce accidents and injuries. The Safety Manager partners closely with leadership and insurance providers to protect our employees, maintain regulatory compliance, and support Moran’s commitment to operational excellence and next-day service reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with management to develop, prepare and implement health and safety policies and procedures.
- Continue to drive our culture of safety.
- Lead Safety, Compliance, and Training programs.
- Partner with HR on all new hire onboarding/orientation, training, and safety initiatives.
- Ensure company compliance with federal, state, and local safety laws, regulations, codes, and rules.
- Provide safety training for employees on policies, regulations, and procedures.
- Manage drug testing programs, driver files (DQF), and driver fitness programs.
- Ensure completion of required DOT and OSHA recordkeeping and reporting.
- Identify and create initiatives to reduce and prevent accidents and injuries.
- Perform safety inspections and audits to assess employee compliance with safety initiatives.
- Advise the companies administration team on safety issues and compliance.
- Maintain accurate and current records with various government entities.
- Analyze incident reports, metrics, and accident/injuries to institute behavioral change that leads to a safer environment.
- Manage accident and injury cases.
- Collaborate with company administration team in communicating with insurance providers on day-to-day operations as well as yearly renewal programs.

Job Requirements:
- 5 years’ experience in working in transportation safety (preferred).
- Experience with Workers’ compensation.
- Extensive knowledge of current safety policies and applicable OSHA standards.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to conduct training and educate staff.
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Available to travel to satellite offices throughout the year (15 – 25%).
Wage Range: 85000.00 - 95000.00 per year
