Summary
Conducts safety, environmental, and loss prevention assessments at renovations and construction sites; verifies compliance with federal, state, and local occupational safety and health laws, regulations, codes, and standards.
Work Environment/Physical Requirements
This job operates in a professional office environment and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to regularly stand; sit; walk; use hands to handle, finger, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk, and hear. The workload may require the employee to sit for extended periods of time. The incumbent must be able to read, do simple math calculations, and withstand moderate amounts of stress. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Sufficient visual acuity to detect faults (poor construction, improper materials, etc.) at times in poorly lit areas. Sufficient dexterity and mobility to perform all required inspection tasks on structures of varying design and height at varying construction stages, including stages when sidewalks, ramps, and stairs have not been installed.
