Overall Responsibilities:
As a Trust & Safety Analyst, you will draw on deep policy expertise to ensure our products, policies, systems and processes are best-in-class. You will do this by ensuring careful, consistent, well-consulted interpretations of Google Ads policy, arbitrating the policy line where it is grey, and optimising policy interpretation so it can be achieved with accuracy, efficiency, clarity and scale. You will be working on developing data driven insights to improve the review operations, identify new abuse trends, automation of processes and policy enforcement, feature engineering/ signal development for ML model improvements, develop intelligence on threat actors, etc., to stay one step ahead of the adversaries.
Top 3 Daily Responsibilities:
- Conduct investigations to catch fraudsters, enforce our product policies, learn spam patterns/ trends and identify product vulnerabilities
- Arbitrate decisions at scale to ensure the highest quality decisions are passed in model training and human review operations.
- Perform detailed Root Cause Analysis identifying systemic policy gaps by analysing across gray areas, misses and insights.
- Identify opportunities/sources for new signals, automation, and workflow improvements.
Mandatory Skills/Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 2 years of experience in data analysis, working with databases, querying (e.g., SQL, MapReduce, Hadoop), or coding (e.g., Python, Javascript, R), and extracting/presenting insights.
- Experience with fraud, security and threat analysis (e.g. Malware, cybersecurity, abuse) in the context of Internet-related products/activities.
Non-Essential Skills/Qualifications:
- Past experience with fraud detection and investigations, Trust & Safety, Internet advertising, Analytics or consulting.
- Track record of working cross-functionally with product, engineering, sales, and other functions, and successfully negotiating for solutions and resources.
