Description:
San Marcos Academy, a private, college preparatory school servicing students in grades Pre-K -12, is accepting applications for a Night Safety. This position is primarily responsible for the safety and protection of the residence life building and its occupants and patrol of the general campus. Maintaining the security of the campus for all clientele overnight is of primary importance.
Requirements:
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1) Man the front desk and patrol the dormitory halls periodically throughout the overnight hours.
2) Admit early morning deliveries through the gate to the dining hall. (Gate Phone or Lobby Phone.)
4) Inform and assist dorm staff if a problem with a boarding student arises during duty hours.
5) Maintain the peace and quiet of the dorm while on duty.
6) Call 911 or the sheriff's office if situations call for off-campus support.
7) Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
1) Monday through Thursday evenings from 11:PM - 6:00 AM
2) Wear comfortable but presentable clothing.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES, AND QUALIFICATIONS:
1) Knowledge of how the dormitory operates
3) Knowledge of the building and the point of contact for the evening
4) Knowledge of the campus roads, buildings, and property lines
5) Knowledge and understanding of the Academy's Crisis Management Plan for rapid response
when needed
6) Knowledge of basic computer skills
8) Ability to recognize and react to emergencies
9) Ability to use above-average interpersonal skills in dealing with people
