Salary range is $80,000-$90,000 depending on experience.
Job Summary:
LSS is seeking a self-directed, creative and adaptable safety professional to lead the organization’s safety work with a focus on continual quality improvement and prevention. This person will support the day-to-day operations and goals of safety committees across the state, work with local team members on risk assessments and mitigation strategies and advise services on best practices in safety and loss control with the goal of fostering safe, inclusive spaces across all work environments.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- 3 years of experience in social service, customer service or a related field that had a focus on safety practices and programs such as Occupational Health and Safety.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred and/or 3 years of experience, which can include lived experience that is applicable to the job and performance.
- Experience designing and delivering safety services in an emergency services, human services, or health care setting preferred.
- Must have past leadership or supervisory experience. Strong people management skills are needed, with the ability to get team members to buy into a safety culture.
- Strong presentation skills and comfort talking in front of a group.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Must pass a DHS background check.
- Hold a valid Minnesota driver’s license, pass the LSS Motor Vehicle Records check and have availability of an insured vehicle to travel within LSS’ service area.
- Experience working with diverse and low-income populations in a trauma informed manner, including those experiencing unsheltered homelessness, unstable housing, chemical dependency, or mental illness preferred.
- Certification in safety management (eg CSP, ASP) preferred or ability to achieve within the first 18 months of hire.
