Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Safety Officer to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring a safe working environment on construction sites by implementing and monitoring safety protocols. This position requires a strong understanding of occupational health standards, compliance management, and risk management practices. The Safety Officer will collaborate with various teams to promote safety awareness and ensure adherence to regulations.
Duties
- Conduct regular safety inspections and audits on construction sites to identify hazards and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations.
- Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies and procedures in accordance with EHS standards.
- Provide training sessions for employees on safety practices, workers' compensation, and emergency response protocols.
- Monitor the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure that all safety measures are being followed.
- Investigate accidents and incidents to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions.
- Collaborate with construction management teams to integrate safety into project planning and execution.
- Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, training sessions, and incident reports.
- Stay updated on industry regulations, best practices, and advancements in construction management software related to safety.
Experience
- Proven experience in occupational health and safety within the construction industry is preferred.
- Familiarity with compliance management systems and risk management strategies.
- Knowledge of OSHA standards and regulations is essential.
- Experience in using construction management software to track safety metrics is a plus.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively train employees on safety protocols.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving with attention to detail in identifying potential hazards.
