Our client, a prestigious private educational institution, is seeking an experienced Assistant Director of Security to work closely with the Director of Security and ensure the safety and security of all students, staff, and facilities. This is a full-time, onsite position in NYC.
The ideal candidate will be a retired or former law enforcement officer with strong security management experience, who is looking for a stable yet impactful career in a non-educational staff role within a renowned institution.
Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in security management and/or facilities/operations management.
- Former or retired law enforcement office or military
- Experience with managing a team of security professionals.
- Strong understanding of security protocols and emergency management procedures.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work closely with external security providers (e.g., NYPD) and school staff.
Desired Skills & Experience
- Knowledge of monitoring safety conditions in and around urban educational settings.
- Ability to manage schedules for security guards across multiple buildings.
Daily Responsibilities
What You Will Be Doing:
- 60% Hands-On Security Supervision and Coordination
- 20% Administrative Duties (Grant/Funding Paperwork, Scheduling)
- 20% Emergency Management and Training Coordination
