Fisher Construction Group is looking for a Construction Safety Manager to join our team. The Construction Safety Manager is responsible for overseeing and implementing safety protocols on construction sites. This role involves monitoring compliance with safety regulations, conducting training sessions, and promoting a culture of safety among all team members. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
Construction Safety Manager Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs safety audits and inspections of the jobsite on a constant basis. Completes field reports, makes recommendations for improvement, is authorized to stop work to correct situations of immediate danger. Prepares written reports of audits. Prepares reports on jobsite safety matters at request of clients.
- Acts as resource on safety laws, rules and requirements for other jobsite personnel. Provides support to project managers and superintendents to comply with the rules and regulations related to safety. Identifies safety issues and ways in which to solve them.
- Provides job-specific training for employees and supervisors in safety-related issues. Conducts new employee safety orientations for all personnel on the jobsite.
- Responds to incidents and accidents as part of the jobsite incident response team. Take the lead in documenting and preparing accident reports. Assists the Corporate Safety Manager to prepare submittals and reports related to accidents.
- Raises the awareness of employees and managers about safety through constant reminders of safety issues. Speaks about safety at jobsite meetings. Reports regularly to the Corporate Safety Manager and Project Manager for the jobsite.
- Organizes and conducts safety committee meetings with representatives from all subcontractors on the site.
- Investigates industrial injury claims activities and reports them to the Corporate Safety Manager. Investigates accidents and incidents as necessary, making a record of investigation, recommendations for any necessary corrections and following up to assure compliance.
Construction Safety Manager Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, Construction Management, or related field required.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Safety Manager or a similar role within the construction industry.
- OSHA 30-hour certification required; additional certifications such as CSP, CHST, or other relevant safety credentials preferred.
Fisher Construction Group provides a highly competitive wage and benefits package. Depending on experience, employment offers will range between $98,521 to $112,624 annually, with an additional 20% while traveling and a potential annual performance bonus up to $12,000.
