Position Summary
We are seeking a Senior Manager, Industrial Hygiene (IH) to be a leader of a company-wide multi-faceted industrial hygiene program within the health and safety organization.
- Within the organization, you will participate as a key member of the Safety, IH
& Disaster Prevention leadership team.
- Develop, coordinate, and implement an occupational/industrial hygiene
program.
- Acknowledged as a company expert in industrial hygiene, e.g. chemical and
noise exposure, ergonomics, radiation, lasers, and industrial ventilation,
including applicable government regulations.
- Considered a key expert within the company, with ability to advise
management on critical IH matters.
- Knowledgeable of current industry trends and practices in IH matters working
closely with various trade associations and professional outlets.
Responsibilities
- Manages a department or function that includes multiple teams led by Managers/supervisors and/or manages a functional area or process that may or may not have direct reports
- Ownership of short to mid-term (1-3 years) execution of functional strategy and the operational direction of the department
- Responsible for ensuring department goals/objectives are met and align to Bridgestone's overall strategy
- Oversees and supports development and execution of departmental strategy
- Requires ability to influence multiple, diverse stakeholders to accept policy, practices, and approaches
- Involves frequent communication with executive leadership on issues of significance
- Controls resources and policy formation in area of responsibility
- Influences, coaches, and develops direct reports
- Travel expectation is approximately 30%
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (preferably in Industrial Hygiene/Occupational Health); 10+ years of relevant experience including 3-5 years management or leadership experience Or Master’s degree (preferably in Industrial Hygiene/Occupational Health); 8+ years of relevant experience including 4-5 years management or leadership experience.
- CIH (Certified Industrial Hygienist) required
- Ergonomic experience is a plus
