JOB DESCRIPTION
As a key member of the Owner’s Professional Services Team, the Construction Safety Manager provides Safety and Health oversight on all phases of facility construction including new construction, facility modifications, and equipment installations being performed by owner’s contractors and subcontractors. The Safety Manager ensures the understanding, appreciation, and adherence to safe operating practices throughout the workplace by all project participants through audits of the contractor’s site operations for compliance to the Owner’s Construction Safety process. Additionally the Safety Manager monitors the contractors Safety and Health compliance with the applicable State Construction Safety and Health Standards.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Manage Site Construction Safety Program
- Review contractor’s safety program
- Review contractor’s Pre-task plan
- Oversee contractor’s safety orientations
- Oversee drug testing program
- Monitor contractor’s safety performance
- Assist with incident investigation & corrective action·
- Project Team resource for safety issues·
- Create safety portion of contractor information manual·
- Participate in safety Buy-off process
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/ SKILL REQUIREMENTS
- OSHA 30-Hour Construction Course (required
- Five (5) years of experience in Construction Management
- Three (3) years of experience in Automotive/ Industrial Construction
- Two (2) years experience with General Motors' projects (preferred)
- Degree or other certification in Safety and Health is a plus.
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications

Pay: $90,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
