Position Summary
Cobbs Creek Healthcare is hiring a PhD-level Real-World Evidence (RWE) / Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR) Scientist to support research projects involving real-world healthcare data, observational study design, and health economics and outcomes research.
This position is designed for a doctoral-level researcher with training in Epidemiology, Health Economics, Pharmaceutical Outcomes Research, Health Outcomes Research, or Public Health with a focus in epidemiology, health economics, or outcomes research.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience working with real-world healthcare data, especially administrative claims and/or electronic health records, and will be comfortable contributing to both scientific research activities and client-facing deliverables.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and support observational research studies using real-world healthcare data.
- Work with claims, EHR, registry, literature-based, and other observational evidence sources.
- Support protocol development, cohort construction, variable definition, outcome and covariate selection, and interpretation of analytic results.
- Conduct or support literature reviews and evidence synthesis to inform study design, therapeutic area background, and results interpretation.
- Contribute to studies involving treatment patterns, disease burden, comparative effectiveness, healthcare resource utilization, costs, patient outcomes, and value evidence.
- Prepare and review reports, slide decks, tables, figures, abstracts, manuscripts, and other client-ready research materials.
- Communicate research methods, assumptions, limitations, and findings clearly to internal teams and client stakeholders.
Qualifications
- PhD required in Epidemiology, Health Economics, Pharmaceutical Outcomes Research, Health Outcomes Research, or Public Health with a focus in epidemiology, health economics, or outcomes research.
- Hands-on experience with real-world healthcare data, especially claims and/or EHR data.
- Experience supporting real-world evidence or HEOR research, including study design, protocol development, literature review, cohort definition, outcome/covariate selection, and interpretation of results.
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical methods and findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a consulting environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in pharmaceutical consulting, life sciences research, market access, HEOR, epidemiology, public health research, or healthcare analytics.
- Familiarity with comparative effectiveness research, burden-of-illness studies, treatment pattern research, healthcare resource utilization studies, cost analyses, or patient outcomes research.
- Working knowledge of SAS, SQL, R, Python, Stata, or similar analytical tools.
- Experience contributing to client deliverables, research reports, abstracts, manuscripts, posters, or presentations.
Additional Requirements
- This is a full-time role in a consulting environment. Candidates should be comfortable working on multiple projects, adapting to client-driven timelines, and collaborating with researchers, analysts, project leads, and internal team members.
- This position may require approximately 10% to 20% travel for client meetings, internal meetings, conferences, or business needs.
- This is a primarily onsite position, with an expectation of working in the office three days per week.
