Position Summary
We are seeking a dependable Sanitation Technician to support manufacturing operations by cleaning and sanitizing production and packaging equipment in a fast-paced environment. This role is responsible for maintaining high sanitation standards to ensure products meet quality and safety requirements.
The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a manufacturing environment, handling cleaning chemicals, performing physical tasks, and following safety and sanitation procedures.
Essential Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitize production and packaging equipment while following all safety procedures.
- Clean and sanitize batching and holding tanks according to company procedures.
- Perform light mechanical tasks to assist with equipment cleaning, including opening pumps and production equipment.
- Use cleaning chemicals and hot water safely and effectively.
- Sweep, scrub, and mop production areas and floors.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Follow instructions and communicate effectively with team members.
- Complete sanitation tasks while meeting production and quality standards.
Qualifications
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to stand and walk for up to 12 hours per shift.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work in wet, humid, and changing temperature environments.
- Ability to climb, bend, reach, stoop, kneel, and stretch for extended periods.
- Ability to follow safety procedures and chemical handling requirements.
- Ability to read and understand chemical labels and SDS information.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Preferred:
- Manufacturing, food, cosmetic, or sanitation experience.
- Knowledge of sanitation processes and cleaning procedures.
- Experience working with cleaning chemicals and sanitation equipment.
- Understanding of microbial contamination and prevention practices.
Work Environment
- Fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Exposure to hot water, cleaning chemicals, wet surfaces, and humidity.
- Requires working around production equipment.
- May require weekend and holiday availability as needed.
