You will be a resource to Trinity’s environmental consulting teams in scoping and executing our growing number of industrial hygiene projects. This role combines hands-on technical work (field assessments, exposure monitoring, physical agent evaluations (PAE), and ventilation and control evaluations) with client service, proposal generation, and project management responsibilities.
Key responsibilities
- Technical Leadership
- Serve as a technical resource on complex industrial hygiene projects, providing guidance on exposure assessment strategies, control recommendations, and regulatory compliance
- Lead and supervise consulting field staff during IH monitoring activities, ensuring quality control, proper sampling protocols, and adherence to OSHA, NIOSH, and AIHA standards
- Develop and review sampling and analytical plans, monitoring strategies, and technical reports for a wide range of workplace health hazards including chemical, physical, and biological agents
- Interpret and communicate complex IH data findings to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Stay current with evolving IH regulations, guidelines, and best practices and serve as an internal resource for staff development
- Client Engagement and Project Delivery
- Manage multiple concurrent IH projects from scope development through final deliverable, ensuring on-time and on-budget performance
- Respond to Requests for Proposals (RFPs), developing technically sound and competitively priced scopes of work
- Serve as primary client contact for assigned accounts, building long-term relationships through responsive communication and high-quality work products
- Conduct field work across a variety of industrial settings including manufacturing, chemical processing, construction, and utilities
- Coordinate with subcontractors, laboratories, and internal teams to ensure seamless project execution
- Business Development
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities through proactive outreach, networking, and relationship-building with existing and prospective clients
- Respond to client inquiries and develop tailored proposals that clearly articulate the firm's IH capabilities and value
- Represent the firm at industry conferences, trade shows, and professional association events, including delivering technical presentations
- Participate in delivering training courses and workshops on IH topics for clients, industry groups, and professional associations
- Collaborate with Trinity offices to develop marketing materials, capability statements, and targeted local business development strategies
- Build an internal network and work closely with the Trinity offices around the US to identify and service customers with IH needs
Requirements
- Education: B.S. in Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Health, Occupational Safety, Science, Engineering, or related field
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of cumulative IH experience with demonstrated technical depth; experience in a consulting environment and with supervising a technical team preferred
- Technical Competencies:
- Proficiency with direct-reading instruments, personal air sampling equipment, noise dosimetry, and other standard IH monitoring tools
- Understanding of industrial ventilation and engineering control evaluation
- Knowledge of PPE / RPE evaluation and respiratory protection programs
- Expertise in sampling program development and qualitative exposure assessment methods
- Understanding of AIHA exposure assessment strategies and IH statistics
- Familiarity with jurisdictional regulatory frameworks (OSHA, MSHA, Cal/OSHA, HSE, etc.)
- Skills: Professional written and oral communication; proven client-facing skills; competency with Microsoft Office/365; familiarity with statistical and data analysis tools preferred
- Other: Ability to travel to client sites and lead field teams; ability to lift and carry up to 35 pounds of equipment; ability to work independently and manage time effectively; U.S. work authorization required

- Working toward Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) certification preferred but not required
- HAZWOPER, CAC, CSP, PE credentials helpful
Working Conditions
- Combination of remote office work and field work primarily at industrial and manufacturing sites; field work may require PPE and exposure to variable environmental conditions
- Ability to lead long days (up to 12 hr/day) and multi-day site assessments and sampling campaigns
