OSHA AUTHORIZED OUTREACH TRAINER WANTED
(Please do NOT apply if you do not have OSHA 500 and/or OSHA 501. OSHA 30 is not enough. Only OSHA 500 and /or 501 are qualified to legally teach OSHA outreach classes)
New York Safety and Training, a local, veteran-owned, family-run small business, is looking to hire an outgoing, personable, and dependable OSHA authorized Outreach trainer as an independent contractor with some weekday availability. Candidates must have completed OSHA 500 and/or OSHA 501 course(s) and be an OSHA authorized outreach traininer.
New York Safety and Training is an approved provider of Department of Buildings Site Safety Training and Scaffold safety classes. We’re looking to hire an OSHA Authorized Outreach Trainer with experience teaching OSHA 30 Construction, 2-hour Drug & Alcohol Awareness, 8-hour Fall Prevention, and 4-hour Supported Scaffold User classes for occasional instructor work as an independent contractor.
PAY: $55 / hour, which includes mandatory class break times (Explanation: for a 4-day OSHA 30 class, each day is 7.5 contact hours plus 1 hour of class breaks. Instructor pay is 8.5 hours for the day when teaching at an NYST location with admin support and 9 hours for the day when teaching at an onsite client location without admin support, to cover the time spent arriving early and setting up your presentation)
QUALIFICATIONS:
OSHA Authorized Outreach Trainer, Construction and/or General Industry (completed OSHA 500 or 501). Please DO NOT apply if you are not an OSHA authorized outreach trainer with trainer card.
Have some weekday availability (we're flush with weekend trainers)
Professional, friendly demeanor
Punctual (tardiness is an absolute no-go)
Computer proficient (Google Docs / Forms, Slack, PowerPoint…)
Great interpersonal customer service skills
Independent worker / Needs little-to-no supervision
Reliable / dependable
Positive attitude
Treats others, especially students, with respect
Ability to teach in any of the 5 boroughs of NYC
Bilingual a plus - Spanish speaking (spoken and written)
JOB DUTIES (Include but are not limited to):
Teach classes at our Brooklyn and/or Manhattan training centers and/or at client onsite locations, to include OSHA 30 Construction (or General Industry if candidate is a GI trainer), 2-hour Drug & Alcohol Awareness, 8-hour Fall Prevention, and 4-hour Supported Scaffold User classes. When teaching at client location, oversee class attendance and sign in sheets and submit them electrinically to our admin team in an timely manner.

SCHEDULE
Intermittent. You will be offered classes as they become available and can select which days and classes you do or do not want to teach.
We have training opportunities at our Brooklyn and Manhattan locations, for onsite classes at client locations throughout the tri-state area, and on Zoom.
