About this Role:
Durable Surfaces is seeking a motivated safety professional to support and strengthen our field safety program. This role works directly with operations leadership and field teams to ensure safe work practices, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement across all job sites. This position requires a hands on approach in the field, regular travel to project sites (company vehicle provided), and the ability to build strong relationships with crews while maintaining clear safety expectations. The ideal candidate is working toward or holds an Associate Safety Professional (ASP) certification and is looking to grow their career within a fast-paced construction environment. If we do nothing else in safety, we protect and take care of our team. This role plays a key part in ensuring that commitment is upheld every day.
Responsibilities:
Field Safety Leadership
1. Conduct regular jobsite safety audits across all active projects to identify hazards, ensure compliance, and support safe work practices.
2. Work directly with field crews and foremen to reinforce safe work procedures and address safety concerns in a practical and professional manner.
3. Provide clear reporting to leadership on jobsite safety performance, risks, and corrective actions.
4. Assist with incident response and investigation, ensuring proper documentation and follow up actions.
Compliance and Safety Systems
1. Maintain compliance with OSHA regulations and applicable safety standards.
2. Ensure job sites maintain proper safety controls including PPE use, GFCIs, air monitoring, and equipment safety requirements.
3. Maintain safety documentation including JSAs, SDS records, training documentation, and safety program materials.
4. Support contractor qualification platforms such as ISNetworld, Avetta, and other third party compliance systems by maintaining current documentation and certifications.
5. Assist with DOT compliance and driver safety documentation.
6. Utilize internal systems such as Motive to monitor safety violations, vehicle safety events, and driver performance.
Training and Continuous Improvement
1. Support the development and delivery of safety training programs based on trade specific risks.
2. Participate in safety committee meetings with field employees to review concerns and identify improvement opportunities.
3. Assist leadership in developing and implementing improvements to the company safety program.
4. Help build a standardized and accessible digital safety system for company wide use.
Workers Compensation and Return to Work
1. Assist in tracking workplace injuries, workers compensation claims, and return to work processes.
2. Coordinate with supervisors and leadership to ensure employees returning from injury are safely reintegrated according to medical restrictions.
Collaboration and Operations Support
1. Work closely with the Director of Operations and field leadership to identify safety related equipment needs and support safety related purchasing requests.
2. Serve as a key communication bridge between field crews, operations leadership, and external safety partners.
Requirements:
· Associate Safety Professional (ASP) certification preferred or actively working toward certification.
· 2 to 4 years of field experience in construction safety, construction operations, or related industry
· Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety compliance standards
· OSHA 500 certification or equivalent is preferred
· CPR and AED certification required or ability to obtain shortly after hire
· Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred
· Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with field crews, vendors, and management
· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Outlook, Excel, and Teams
· Comfortable utilizing digital systems for safety and fleet tracking including platforms such as Motive and contractor compliance systems
· Familiarity with DOT compliance, driver safety, and vehicle safety standards is preferred
· Ability and willingness to travel regularly to multiple job sites
· Valid driver’s license required

Pay: $65,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
