Safety and Law Enforcement Position Overview The Law Enforcement
Community Safety Coordinator is a civilian (non-sworn) professional
responsible for enhancing safety and security across the university
campus through proactive engagement, education, and prevention
initiatives. This role serves as a bridge between MUPD and students,
faculty, staff, and visitors, fostering a culture of safety, trust, and
shared responsibility. This position works closely with external
partners, especially those within city government to address safety
concerns throughout the MUPD patrol zone. Duties and Responsibilities 1.
Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to create
and execute strategies related to crime prevention, nuisance activity,
community engagement, and safety programing within the MUPD patrol zone.
Expected internal stakeholders are Student Affairs, Office of Residence
Life, Purchasing, Office of the General Counsel, and Office of Public
Affairs. Expected external stakeholders are the Milwaukee Police
Department, the Milwaukee County Sheriff\'s Office, Milwaukee City
Attorney\'s Office, the District Attorney\'s Office, Milwaukee
Department of Neighborhood Services, Near West Side Partners, and the
Menomonee Valley Partners. 2. Build strong relationships with students,
faculty, staff, and campus organizations. 3. Collaborate with the
relevant City of Milwaukee departments and community groups to identify
and address violations of city ordinances. 4. Attend student
organization meetings, residence hall events, and campus forums. 5.
Evaluate program effectiveness and recommend improvements. 6. Coordinate
campus-wide safety campaigns and awareness events. 7. Maintain
documentation of outreach activities and program outcomes. 8. Promote
transparency and awareness of campus safety resources 9. File the
required paperwork with the City of Milwaukee for licensed premises in
the MUPD patrol zone. \*\*\*\*\* OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Associate\'s or vocational/
technical school degree Strong interpersonal, writing, oral
communication, and presentation skills Ability to engage effectively
with a diverse campus population Be free of any felony convictions and
Certain Misdemeanor Convictions. Preferred Knowledge, Skills And
Abilities Bachelor\'s degree Law enforcement experience, especially
university policing. Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design
Certification (CPTED ) Experience working with student populations or
