About the Role
We are seeking a meticulous Quality Technician to ensure the integrity of manufactured components through rigorous inspection and adherence to quality standards. In this role, you will interpret engineering prints and conduct advanced dimensional inspections using tools like articulated arm CMMs. Your expertise will be crucial in maintaining the highest levels of product quality and reliability.
Responsibilities
- Conduct precise measurements on parts and assemblies utilizing calipers, micrometers, Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM), articulated arm CMMs, and attribute gages to verify conformance to specifications.
- Perform routine material testing using tensile/compression testers to validate material properties and performance.
- Analyze and document inspection and test results, providing clear and concise reports on findings.
- Identify, document, and report nonconformances to the material review board, contributing to corrective action processes.
- Develop comprehensive first article and PPAP documentation packages to ensure compliance with industry standards and customer requirements.
- Communicate inspection results effectively to production personnel, facilitating timely adjustments and improvements.
- Execute in-process inspections to proactively identify and address potential quality issues during the manufacturing process.
- Support the training of production personnel in in-process inspection techniques, fostering a culture of quality ownership.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, including those with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Expertise in using inspection and measurement tools, including CMMs and articulated arms, to perform accurate dimensional checks.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Tools for data analysis, documentation, and communication.
- Associate Degree or High School Diploma with 2+ years of relevant experience in a quality control environment.
- Experience in composite manufacturing processes.
- ASQ Certified Quality Inspector certification.
- Formal training in CMM or Articulated Arm operation and programming.
