The Safety Manager will lead the implementation and enhancement of safety programs within Beckstrom Electric, working closely with project teams to ensure a safe and compliant work environment. This role requires a proactive approach to safety management, including regular site visits, training, and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to champion the company's safety culture.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Thoroughly understand, administer, and enforce OSHA regulations and other federal, state, and local standards alongside company safety policies.
- Regularly visit project sites to conduct comprehensive safety audits and immediately address safety issues with corrective actions.
- Work with project teams to develop site-specific safety programs and orientations, ensuring all required signage is current and compliant.
- Oversee and/or conduct training for employees on safety policies, including OSHA certifications, First Aid, and CPR.
- Conduct safety inspections and analyze data to improve safety performance and training needs.
- Develop and maintain relationships with OSHA, VOSH, MOSH, and other entities to ensure compliance and collaboration.
- Serve as the primary contact for OSHA, MOSH, and VOSH inspections, managing all related documentation and conferences.
- Coordinate procurement, inventory, and distribution of safety equipment and ensure adequate first aid supplies on-site.
- Administer the Safety Awards program, track metrics, and apply for industry safety awards at various levels.
- Investigate workplace injuries, ensure proper documentation, and work with insurance carriers and counsel to resolve claims.
- Lead or participate in the company Safety Committee, regularly updating the team on safety program changes and regulations.
- Engage with local and national safety councils to promote the company’s safety culture and collaborate on safety issues.
- Maintain and update safety-related documents, including the corporate safety manual and disaster plans.
- Work with senior management on legal matters to minimize risks and maintain relationships with external safety stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with environmental laws related to construction safety and review site plans for safety hazards.
- Travel as needed to support multi-state projects and ensure consistent safety practices across locations.
- Attend required safety training to remain compliant in position.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
SAFETY AND QUALITY CONTROL
- Enforces Company policies, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), and Company and Job Safety Requirements.
- Comply with OSHA regulations.
- Immediately address all safety concerns and ensure proper reporting to the Safety Manager for all jobsite incidents within 24 hours.
- Review assigned projects for overall quality assurance and compliance..
- Identify and correct deficiencies which affect overall quality and production
- Confirm adequate onsite record keeping of quality assurance practices including preparation of as-builts.
TRAINING AND CERTIFICATIONS
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of 5 years in safety management in the construction industry.
- OSHA 30-hour and first aid/CPR certifications.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in safety management, ES&H management, construction management, or a related discipline or equivalent years of experience.
- CSP or CHST certification preferred.
- Knowledgeable with governmental ES&H standards and regulations, with experience applying them to construction projects.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Procore.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with all company levels, government representatives, and external vendors.
A successful candidate must pass a pre-employment drug test and background check.
