Overview
Steel Transport Inc is a well established Flatbed carrier operating mainly within the Midwest region. We are looking for an experienced Safety Director/Manager to join our growing transportation team in Northwest Indiana. No safety issues.
Salary and Benefits negotiable based on experience.
Duties:
- Lead investigations of vehicle accidents.
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment to ensure compliance and safety readiness.
- Communicate with drivers to promote a strong safety culture and provide ongoing training where needed.
- Monitor driver logs and compliance through ELD.
- Maintain up-to-date safety records and ensure adherence to all federal and state transportation regulations.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience managing or overseeing DOT compliance.
- Strong understanding of transportation safety programs and reporting requirements.
- Former or current truck driver experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with ELD platforms (such as Samsara, Motive, etc) is a plus.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Job Type: Full-time
Base Pay: $50,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
