Seeking a STSC certified safety manager for construction firm specializing in Oil and Gas, Energy and Equipment Solutionsresponsible of eliminating and controllinghazardous conditions resulting from human error, equipment and machine operations which may lead to human injury and/or property.
Supervisory Relations
This position reports directly to the Director of Safety/Director of Operations, Santa Fe Springs office.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Drug testing – Set up, maintain records, and kept confidential in employee’s personal medical records files.
Background checks – TWIC and customer background checks shall be kept confidential and filed within the employee’s personal file.
Accident Investigation – Respond to all injuries and incidents, manage the case from start to end and complete all reporting requirements to Vince and Risk Management.
Training – Fulfil customer and employers requirements for training employees or scheduling employees for needed training in house or at safety councils.
Safety Supplies – Maintain adequate safety supplies and request supplies from purchasing agent when quantities are low.
Training Spreadsheet – Maintain spreadsheet documenting all training completed by employees
Audits – Audit jobsites for safety and complete at least a minimum of four audits per month.
Observation cards complete/submit minimum one per day
MSDS Books – Maintain MSDS paperwork and supply information to all foremen.
OSHA Logs – Maintain OSHA logs and have information readily available for auditing purposes
Jobsite Visits - Visit jobsites, meet with employees and customers and document at least two near misses per month
Deliveries – Notify tool room or payroll before visiting a jobsite
Monthly Meetings – Attend contractor forum meetings at the local refineries
Frontline Focus – Submit all necessary paperwork for office personnel monthly.
PQF’S – Complete all PQF’s and support contract administrator questions.
Foremen and All hands Meetings – Schedule and order food
Hand safe – Maintain hand safe alive program
Cover all aspects related to safety
Audit the shop and make sure it is 100% safety compliant at all times.
Spot check tool inspection process and make sure our tools are 100% inspected to OSHA and customer specs.
Spot check rigging certification process and make sure it is in
Skills Required
Knowledge of federal, state, local, and corporate HSE policies
Familiar with corporate software packages and MS Office® software
Strong verbal and written communication, stand-up training, interpersonal and organizational skills. A team player
Legal authorization to work in the USA on a full-time basis
ASP, CSP, OHST, CHST, PE preferred.
Must be able to pass a background/drug test.
Educational Requirements
Bachelor of Science related technical field or associates degree in safety technology (with equivalent experience)

QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty at a high standard. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
Education and Experience
Bachelor of Science related technical field or associates degree in safety technology (with equivalent experience)
Must have at least 10 years’ experience in HSE safety, training or related field
Experience in engineering or petroleum industry
Must hold and maintain active CHST certification (preferred)
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Write routine reports and correspondence. Speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percentage and to draw and interpret graphs
Computer Skills
To perform the job successfully, an individual should be proficient with estimating and spreadsheet software and should have knowledge of word processing software, e-mail and the use of the Internet.
