Our client is a leading food manufacturer seeking an Enviornmental Manager for their facility in the Sheboygan, WI area. They offer an extensive benefit package, salary range of $90K - $115K with a $10K - $15K target bonus (paid monthly). Job responsibilities include:
· Work closely with company’s sanitarian, sanitation teams, maintenance teams, and safety leaders to monitor chemical use and provide guidance on hazardous chemical disposal as well as the consequences chemicals might have at the treatment plans.
· Work closely with WWTP operators and provide support with operations, DMRs, waste disposal, construction projects, regulation research, etc.
· Assist Yards and Grounds team with stormwater issues and ensure pond maintenance and wildlife management are safe and comply with regulations
· Manage facility’s wastewater, stormwater, potable water, air emissions, Tier II and RMP permits.
· Manage Environmental and PSM compliance program with federal and state regulations, environmental policies, and company procedures across all facilities.
· Work with plant maintenance coordinators, utility leaders, and project managers to drive improvement and environmental compliance
· Validate that PSM program complies with OSHA and EPA standards by serving as liaison between departments
· Perform internal auditing, environmental training, and drive standardization and continuous improvement throughout the organization
· Interface with State and Federal agencies and provide internal guidance on regulatory issues and manage regulatory compliance
· Drive continuous improvement and implementation of environmental program and PSM
· Update and develop new risk-based programs to promote performance improvements and reduce risk
· Manage environmental reporting, targets, and metrics
· Communicate risk issues to operations and senior leaders concerning environmental incidents and reporting, root cause assessments, corrective actions, and non-compliance to drive change and improvements
· Lead hazmat teams and co-lead corporate PSM/RMP committee
· Serve as internal auditor to EHS/EMS and PSM Element internal auditor
· Participate in cross-functional teams to develop and implement strategies that support operating facilities and lines of business
The following qualifications must be met to be considered for the position:
· BS/BA required
· 5+ years of experience in Environmental, EHS, or Engineering required; food manufacturing experience a plus
· Comprehensive knowledge of field’s concepts and principles including air, stormwater, wastewater, drinking water, EPCRA, SARA, RMP, waste management, Oil Spill Prevention, OSHA, SARA, RETA EPA requirements
· Experiencing managing Environmental Management Systems and Process; safety management elements preferred
· Knowledgeable of Federal, State, and local regulations and where to find specific laws and guidance documents
