WHAT WE NEED:
Safety Coordinator
Sigma Engineers & Constructors is seeking a Safety Coordinator that is responsible for overseeing and maintaining the organization's safety program to ensure a safe, healthy, and accident-free work environment. This role includes conducting regular safety inspections, developing safety training programs, and enforcing safety regulations to prevent accidents, injuries, and environmental harm.
Responsibilities:
- Develop/Update bi-weekly safety presentations and corresponding quizzes for compliance.
- Conduct all company safety meetings bi-weekly.
- Record keeping for all safety procedures, attendance, and tracking.
- Review current safety programs and manuals for updates from OSHA, company practice, or best practice.
- Support company Safety Committee initiatives.
- Execute the company Crisis Management plan and update annually or as needed.
- Review safety quiz completion and record keeping for compliance.
- Order and maintain safety supplies.
- Review weekly and update as requested ISNetworld.
- Update bi-weekly, monthly and quarterly safety statistics and input into SharePoint, ISN and Avetta as required.
- Complete company OSHA logs
- Support company safety goals.
- Maintain Safety Harness program, including monthly checks and annual inspections.
- Maintain check in and out procedures for H2S monitors, CO2 monitors, MPC cell phones and harnesses.
- Inventory tracking of all PPE - order, track and distribute.
- Maintain safety council subscriptions as required- Alliance Safety Council, HASC, etc.
- Set up safety training through Alliance Safety Council, HASC, etc. for employees and new hires.
- Set up respirator fit tests as needed for on-site work and maintain records for compliance.
- Maintain and update the safety matrix as needed.
- Email course expiration notices monthly to employees whose training will expire.
- Assist employees with TWIC card renewals.
- Set up, document for record keeping and communicate CPR/AED training every 2 years.
- Assist with coordination of scheduling of fire extinguishers and inspections - document and update for record keeping.
- Promote overall safety goals within the company.
- Attend field walks/site visits as required.
- Create Safety Spotlight article in company newsletter - monthly.
- ISNetworld and Avetta maintenance including acknowledgments, hours reporting questionnaire updates, compliance submission and disseminating the updates to the managers and affected employees.
- Oversee the badging process for plant and site entry.
- Maintain, update company safety manuals as required, or at a minimum every year.
WHO WE NEED:
- Associate or bachelor's degree in occupational safety and health preferred but not required.
- 3-5 years of experience in related field.
- Organization skills and high-level attention to detail.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
